Open new horizons for spreading joy:
Young people, faith and vocational discernment
What is ACYF?
The Australian Catholic Youth Festival exists to provide young people with opportunities to deepen their relationship with Jesus, be empowered to be disciples in the world today and encounter and celebrate the vitality of the Church in Australia
The Archdiocese sees the Festival as a way to connect young people them with Jesus Christ and the Church, forming them for living the Christian life and empowering them to live out the mission of the Church.
By providing young people with local examples and connections of vocations, social action, liturgy and prayer, catholic music and catechesis,
Through its mix of rallies, workshops, small groups and sacramental celebrations, the Festival has a unique ability to offer both ‘large-scale’ Christian experiences as well as personal one-on-one connections.
The Archdiocese of Sydney is hosting the event from December 7th-9th 2017 on behalf of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC).
Who can register?
The Archdiocese will support groups (schools, Parishes and movements) to take participants as part of their community. A Group Coordinator will be required to manage the registration for the whole group.
Participants over the age of 18 who do not wish to attend with a specific group can register as an individual.
A registration form to register individual young adults (18+) to attend the ACYF with the Archdiocesan group is below! Fill it out if you are interested in coming.
CG Youth Ministry is encouraging groups from the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn to consider taking young people to the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in December this year.
To help Youth Coordinators who are considering taking a group, please find the most updated information regarding the festival below including the Archdiocesan proposal including costings and accommodation options. National Briefing notes are released by the Host Diocese Festival Coordinator (Kathy Campbell) throughout the year in the lead up to the festival.
